Steve has worked as an assistant district forester, park manager, inventory, fertilization, cruiser/appraiser, and assistant contract logging super for Weyerhaeuser. He later managed harvests and timber sale purchases at Northwest Log Marketing, Inc. Steve currently does non-industrial forestland management for Forest Resources, Inc., Chehalis, Washington. He received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Oregon State University in 1969. His professional affiliations include: Certified Forester, Society of American Foresters, President (2005), Lewis County Farm Forestry Association, Washington Agricultural and Forestry Educational Foundation, North Gifford Pinchot Resource Advisory Committee, D. N. R. Small Forest Landowner Advisory Committee, Fish and Forest Rules Small Landowner Workgroup, and the Washington Hardwoods Commission.
