Neil Hughes
Neil was educated at Aberdeen University in Scotland and practiced as a Professional Forester for 7 years before moving to BC in 1994. He has worked extensively on the BC Coast from the Queen Charlottes down through the mainland and Vancouver Island and around the Fraser Valley.
Neil has worked in the alder business since 1998 and been responsible for running 5 alder Forest Licenses, primarily as the silviculture forester. This involves prescribing harvest plans, reforestation prescriptions and dealing with the non-timber resource aspects. He is running the first ever alder planting program on Crown land in BC which over the last 7 years will have established over 650ha of real trees!
