Robert L. DealBob Deal is a research silviculturist and team leader for the Sustainable Wood Production Initiative, Pacific Northwest Research Station in Portland, OR. He has 25 years of professional forester and research experience working throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. He has a B.S. in biology from The Evergreen State College, a M.S. in silviculture from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in forest resources from Oregon State University. His research interests are in applied silviculture including research on stand development, regeneration, and silvicultural practices to enhance compatible forest management. He serves on the editorial board for the Western Journal of Applied Forestry and is an active member of the Society of American Foresters. He enjoys running, microbrews and gourmet coffees of the Pacific Northwest. |
